New Patients

Southwest Pediatrics welcomes new patients!  Whether you are expecting your first child, newly relocated to St.Louis, or are changing doctors we understand that choosing a pediatrician is important, and we want you to feel confident and comfortable in your choice.

Our goal is to build long-term relationships between our staff and our patients by consistently providing our patients with competent and compassionate care. We strive to ensure that your child receives prompt medical care in a comfortable, child-friendly office setting.

To provide the best possible care to your child, we recommend having your child's medical and immunization records forwarded to our office prior to your child's 1st visit.  However, if your child is ill and needs an appointment, we can certainly see him/her even if the records have not yet arrived.

Caring for you newborn is a real partnership, and our office takes that responsibility very seriously.  Call us as soon as your baby is born so we can schedule your first office visit within 2-3 days of discharge from the hospital.  At that time we will do a complete exam, review hospital records and discuss feeding, immunizations and any issues of concern.  We will also review the checkup schedule and offer guidance on the care of your newborn.  Our doctors and nurses are always happy to talk to new moms and dads!

New Baby Insurance Coverage

Insurance coverage is determined by which plan/plans your employers offer and you have enrolled in. We encourage you to contact your human resources department or employer about the specifics of your plan, including well-baby exams, checkups and immunizations.

First Appointment

To help expedite the first appointment, we ask that you please bring:

  • your child’s immunization records
  • your child’s medical history including prior medical records
  • your insurance information and card
  • New Patient Registration Forms

On the day of your child’s first visit to our office, we recommend arriving 10 minutes early. This allows extra time to complete any registration forms and ensures you have plenty of time to get acquainted with our staff and office. We look forward to meeting you and working with your family.
